Books nowadays are going the way of CDs in the undeniable fact that folk are moving from the physical media to getting it on an electronic book or tablet computer, or perhaps on your smartphone. There are naturally the old stalwarts who demand that there’s nothing better than having a great page turner in your hands, but these folk are similar to those who assume the bops and crackles of a vinyl record player makes it better than a CD. Below you’ll find some places that have some free ebooks for you to snatch.
Amazon
The makers of the Kindle and the sector leader in online book sales, and even web sales generally for that matter, have a nice choice of free electronic books for you to examine and fill up your eReader with. The selection includes old classics which are now beyond copyright and even promotional books from publishers who are searching for a little bit of publicity.
Project Gutenberg
The first ever place to get free electronic books. It is a band of volunteers typing out books which are now out of copyright so that others can download them and read them for nothing. They have got a collection of over 36,000 books, so I’m sure you will find something that you will like. I’d suggest going to the top 100 list though; otherwise trawling thru 36,000 books can get a bit overwhelming.
Manybooks
These men don’t have their own e-books. What they do is scour the web for the free e-books available and then reformat them into all the different formats of e-book readers out there. All of the books aren’t specified that well so you’ll be wanting to start on the recommendations page.
iTunes U
If you do not mind iTunes, then you can employ its library of free podcasts. The iTunes U deals with instructional material from American and Brit establishments. It covers a wide selection of topics, from Finance to Fashion and everything between.
I’m hoping you find these tips easy to follow. You do not have to be an IT support expert to enjoy free ebooks.
